About

Hi, I'm Dr Chris Penter

Born in Johannesburg, raised in Durban South Africa, I have dedicated my life to providing compassionate, expert chiropractic care. My journey began with a Master’s degree from the Durban University of Technology (DUT) in 1994, where my research focused on the vital role chiropractic plays in managing tension-type headaches. This academic foundation, coupled with my experience as a part-time clinician and lecturer at DUT, has shaped my approach to patient care, blending evidence-based practice with a deep commitment to my patients’ wellbeing.

In 1997, I earned a chiropractic sports-physician qualification, further enhancing my ability to address both everyday ailments and sports-related injuries. Over the years, I have forged strong relationships with leaders in the chiropractic and medical fields, valuing collaboration as a cornerstone of effective treatment. I believe that collective expertise often yields the best outcomes, and I am committed to working alongside doctors, consultants, physiotherapists, and podiatrists if necessary to ensure my patients receive the most comprehensive care possible.

Throughout my 30-year career, I have continually sought to learn and grow, always striving to enhance my practice. It is an honour to be entrusted with my patients’ wellbeing – a responsibility I do not take lightly. My approach is rooted in problem-solving, and I am dedicated to finding the best treatment for each individual. My goal is to ensure that every patient not only feels physically better but also leaves with a deeper understanding of their own body, empowering them to maintain their health and wellbeing long after they leave my care.

“The experience of how Chris had efficiently diagnosed and dealt with my shoulder lifted my opinion of him because he had come across as someone who actually listened and cared – not the same as some other chiropractors whom I had met, who only seemed interested in treating me as quickly as possible, ensuring I booked for my next multiple appointments before leaving. [...] Without doubt, Chris has immeasurably changed my life for the better. I cannot recommend Chris Penter highly enough.”
